About

About

Alston for Athletes (AFA) is a fiscally sponsored project of Players Philanthropy Fund, we are dedicated to providing mental health resources to athletic directors, coaches, and student-athletes across the country.

Marcus Alston founded AFA in September of 2019 with one major goal: he didn't want student athletes to go through what he endured without a support system. He built a team of motivated individuals to help spread the message of promoting emotional, and mental well-being.

Mission

AFA's mission is to advocate for student-athlete mental health awareness through policy change and providing access to mental health services.

We advocate for mental health  training for coaches and provide mental health scholarships to student-athletes struggling with mental health.

AFA is a community and outlet for student-athletes across the world!

4A Method

We incorporate the 4A Method to instill important virtues into our student-athletes. Through our programs, we aim to have student-athletes practice aspects of the 4A Method in their daily lives.

Each principle of the 4A Method promotes striving towards being the best individual you can be. We want our student-athletes to set ambitious goals, while holding themselves accountable. Our goal is to bring emotional and mental health awareness to student-athletes in order to help them achieve their ambitious goals.
